Business Practices
- Designs procedures to identify threats and opportunities to the engineering industry. Develops and implements programs to improve the business practices of member firms. Promotes Qualifications Based Selection. Works actively with state and local governments on issues of concern to our member firms. Business Practices Chair: Rodney Chester (Gresham Smith)
Engineering Excellence Awards
- Applauds the work of engineering firms through the promotion and production of ACEC Tennessee's annual awards gala. EEA Chairs: Mauri Riesenberg (STV, Inc.) & Katherine Frye (Kimley-Horn)
Environment & Energy Working Groups
- Works collaboratively with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation and other agencies to track and respond to environmental issues. The committee has four subcommittee who meet regularly, and work with designated representatives from TDEC: Air / Energy / Solid Waste & Remediation / Water Resources. Government Advocacy
- Develops and responds to legislative and regulatory advocacy initiatives. Government Advocacy Chair: Steve Field (RK&K)
Interprofessional (Vertical)
- Focuses on supporting member firms in matters associated with the Office of the State Architect, the State Building Commission, State Procurement Agencies, and other organizations. Interpro Chair: Jim Prillaman (OGCB)
Transportation Working Groups
- Collaborates with Tennessee Department of Transportation representatives to address issues in the transportation industry affecting ACEC member firms, TDOT, and the construction industry. Transportation Chair: Brad Winkler (STV, Inc.)
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
- Works to ensure that ACEC is a welcoming organization where all members are included, involved, and have the opportunity to pursue key roles in the life of the Council. Discusses and implements strategies for events, promotions, and continuing education. DEIB Chair: Jessica Lucyshyn (Gresham Smith)
Education & Programs
- Handles a variety of tasks including speaker ideas, forum partnerships, and brainstorming future opportunities. Education & Programs Chair: Ash Elsayed (UES)
